History
1984
In 1984, Quinta da Nogueira was founded in Lisbon. Always connected to the livestock industry, businessman Hermínio Carvalho Rodrigues started the family business focused on fattening calves, applying all his industry knowledge acquired over the years. The company reached its peak at the turn of the millennium when its herd counted 5,000 head of cattle fattening simultaneously, becoming one of the largest companies producing for the domestic market that year.

2015
In September 2015, with the opening of new markets in the MENA region ( Middle East and North Africa ), the company's activity grew exponentially, having exported about 1,000 fattening calves to Israel that year. Since then, HCR has shown an increase in animals exported year after year, becoming one of the most relevant companies in the cattle exportation business in Portugal.

2004
Upon the death of the mentor, the sons Graça and Pedro Rodrigues, together with the experienced cattle dealer João Bernardo, continued his legacy with the foundation of the company we know today as HCR. The company's current name features the initials of Hermínio Carvalho Rodrigues, on his honor. Since its inception, the company specialized in the fattening of calves and the rearing of calving cows and has grown by more than 1000%, assuming an important contribution to the agricultural sector in Portugal.

2023
By 2022, we surpassed the keystone of 29,000 heads exported, being this the record number of animals shipped by HCR at that time. During this year we aim to consolidate our position in the Israeli market as well as grow in the Spanish markets and the MENA region. The commitment to new technologies as well as the constant improvement of production methods and animal health continues to be our focus for future development.
